Clickable map of the western USA Start of the trip in Los Angeles Joshua Tree Death Valley Las Vegas Bryce Zion Grand Canyon Mountain biking in Moab In the last month of 1993, Michel Buijsman and Raph de Rooij rode on their moutainbikes from Los Angeles to Moab. Just a few weeks before their departure, they had to cancel another trip they had prepared for almost a year. The reason: crossing the Sahara desert in Africa had become impossible, due to the outbreak of a civil war in Algeria. So it became the western USA instead. It turned out to be a cold experience, but also a vacation never to forget.
